Ergonomics and Posture advice

When we use equipment that hasn't been adjusted to suit us we can become vulnerable to injury. The most common factors associated with injury are sustained repetitive movements, using prolonged muscle effort to do a job, poor postural positions, equipment set incorrectly in relation to our body and keeping still for prolonged periods. This can be seen eg using a computer , when driving a car or just using a mobile phone for too long ! Over time these factors can combine to generate pain and aggravate existing conditions causing further debilitation.

At ActionPhysio we believe that poor posture is an underlying cause of many back, neck and upper limb problems. Postural / core training is therefore an important part of your treatment and can include assessing posture at work and during functional activities.
